Birdland

Birdland is an open-ended investigation of the cultural and ecological processes that connect people and birds across the United States. The project will incorporate visual, analytical, and narrative components over time with the goal of revealing — and creating — meaningful relationships between people and nature. Explicit effort is made to draw on different sources of information and different traditions of exploration, analysis, and knowledge production, across the sciences and arts. Products of Birdland explorations will be shared in a variety of contexts — including publications, art exhibitions, and scientific conferences — encouraging broad discussion of the meaning of relationships among birds, people, and places.
